Our check in time is from 4pm on the day of arrival.   

I prefer to greet guests on arrival, but in case I am unavailable, there is a key box to the right of the property just over the small black gate that latches onto the wall.  What3Words: ///public.vesting.trucked.  I will send you the code at the agreed check-in time.

Unless you are arriving at night, I will not leave any lights on and ask that you only use what you need during your stay.  The same goes for the heating and thermostats, please be thoughtful about your energy consumption, it is a large house and we try to keep it affordable whilst still covering our costs.  If you can switch the towel rails off (switches outside of bathroom doors) when they are not needed, it will be appreciated.

If you find something missing or wrong on your arrival, please let me know as soon as possible so I can fix it for you.  

I will leave some sort of a welcome gift; some hand-picked flowers from the garden, a box of local biscuits, a basket of fruit or half a dozen home laid eggs, but I will not supply milk, wine or bread as some people do not consume these items and I don't want to offend or waste.  

There is sugar, tea bags and instant coffee in the cupboard along with some salt and pepper.  Please bring anything else you may need with you.  There is a well-stocked Co-op in Beaminster, a fantastic green grocer and a butcher too. 

I live in the house next door, and work in the old garage attached to the Cheesehouse.  I'd be grateful if you could call or message me if you need me, in case I am with a client or busy with my family.  I keep my phone with me, so I should be able to get back to you quickly.

Our check out time is by 10am on the day of departure.   

· If you have time, please write a helpful message to future guests in the blue Guest Book.   

· Clear the fridge and cupboards of any leftover food

· Have a tidy up; wipe the table and worktops, straighten the furniture, return items to their original locations, flush the toilets and check you have all your belongings

· Remove all rubbish and food waste into the bins provided outside - see the bins section for more information on this

· Place all used and/or wet bath towels in baths or shower.  There is no need to strip the beds

· Turn off all the lights, hob, oven and other appliances

· Return all the thermostats to their original settings

· Close all the windows, and lock all the doors

· Leave the front door key in the lockbox around the side of the building.  If you don't know the code, please post the key into the black post box next to the front door.
