In a bid to reduce the carbon footprint at The Old Cheesehouse we have installed PV panels to generate electricity to run the house. Our project has been part funded by Low Carbon Dorset as part of the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund and will save over 7.5 tonnes of CO2 each year
We have installed a number of unwired solar lights around the property to help residents and guests to find their way in the dark without accidentally leaving lights on, or creating light pollution.
We're big fans of the dark skies movements!
We try to keep our use of chemicals to a minimum, both on the farm and the houses.
As much as possible, we use eco friendly cleaning products, dishwasher tablets and natural soaps in The Old Cheesehouse.
We are blessed with our very own source of untreated water. It is regularly tested for bacteria and a UV filter ensures it is not only safe but tastes delicious too!
Our farming is organic practice without the use of chemicals. Our cattle are free range, grass fed and live outside all year round.
We keep bees too. Our honey is available to purchase!
